Nice to meet you...
Most people know me as Kimi.
I'm a seventeen year old long-distancer living in Scotland. Currently I'm in my final year of high school, waiting on responses from university. A teacher and mummy are amongst the things I want to become someday. I love to create. Please feel free to message me any time - I really enjoy getting to know new people!
And, of course, enjoy your stay!

If this is how society worked today, there would be less girls with eating disorders out there. fuck society. I like my curves (:

NB. Strong language.

I don’t usually reblog thing here unless I feel strongly about something, so this is one of those posts.

This makes me angry.  The amount of people reblogging this with the whole “YEAH! GO CURVY GIRLS! CURVY PRIDE! WOOT!” attitude bugs me.  Now, I don’t mind that attitude.  Women should be allowed to be proud of their bodies.  This makes me angry because these images aren’t about that.  These images aren’t about being proud of your body.  These images are about not looking “the right way”.  These weight gain images are just as bad as weight loss ads.  And too few people realise that.

jsvensson sums it up better than me:

Though I’d like to add that these sorts of ideals and advertising are actually, in a way, no better than the ones we have today. Even though this type of beauty ideal probably is a bit healthier than the one today (which says you should be really, really thin), it does, just as much, emphasise the thinking of “you are not good enough the way you are, this is what you are supposed to look like”. Wouldn’t it just be perfect if we someday, somehow, reached an ideal which said the opposite? Because isn’t that exactly what is so beautiful about humans; that everyone looks different, that there aren’t two people in the world who look exactly alike, that everyone is beautiful in their own way? Just the way they are.

Look around, people.  We’ve already moved on.  Skinny is becoming old news.  Nobody cares for it too much now.  All you hear nowadays is nonsense about how real women have curves and ass and tits.  And that’s not right.  Saying that “real women” are this or “real women” have that?  Really?  All these images do is fuck with the way women see themselves, playing on the whole “men will want to fuck you if you look this way” bullshit.  Yet again I am reminded of this poem.

Fuck, people!  Wake up!  I am so sick of being told by middle aged women to eat more and fed up of hearing eleven year-old girls calling other eleven year-old girls fat.  Seriously.  People are complaining about how “this” has gone.  “This” has not gone.  “This” is still here.  The message may have changed, but “this” kind of ad that tells women that they don’t look good enough, aren’t good enough for the rest of us, is still here.  Just because the words have changed doesn’t mean this has disappeared.

I don’t give a fuck what your body looks like.  Nobody else should give a fuck what anybody’s body looks like.  I hope ads like these disappear.  Calling someone too skinny is just as bad as calling someone too fat.  As long as your body is healthy and as long as you’re happy with yourself, you’re set.
